How the blog began

Founded in 2011, HolidayPirates represents one of the fastest-growing online travel companies in Europe. Its unique concept of “best travel deals” rapidly gained popularity and since its inception HolidayPirates has become the preferred portal for millions of travellers.

HolidayPirates has spread not only in Germany but also in Austria, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the United States.

The company currently employs around 220 crew members, 120 are based in Berlin Headquarters.

To satisfy our customers and offer them a unique value proposition tailored to their needs, we constantly develop and expand our product portfolio. Not only do we search innumerable websites for cheap flights, hotels and travel packages, we also look for vouchers, bus and train deals. In addition, through our partners’ solutions we provide thousands of offers from well-known tour operators and airlines.

Our Captains

David Armstrong


David was appointed COO of HolidayPirates in 2014 before assuming the role of CEO in 2016. Prior to this David accumulated experience in various management positions throughout several verticals of the travel industry in Switzerland and Germany. At one of Europe’s leading tour operators for instance, the FTI Group, he managed a number of subsidiary companies for 9 years. As CEO at HolidayPirates Group David is in charge of facilitating the international strategy and developing the business as well as playing an indispensable role in leading the management team.

Christoph von Bülow


Christoph joined HolidayPirates Group as VP Operations & Partnerships in January 2016 and was appointed COO in January 2018 after organising and growing the teams successfully. Prior to HolidayPirates, Christoph held various international management positions within the tourism and media industry such as Travelzoo, and Hubert Burda Media. Today, he leads the overall Operations for the HolidayPirates and develops further international partnerships for the group.

Dominik Förster


As CMO of HolidayPirates Group, Dominik leads all things Marketing, including the award winning Social Media team. He joined the company in December 2015 as VP of Marketing and commenced his role as CMO in January 2018. Prior to working at HolidayPirates, Dominik led the marketing teams for Unister Travel GmbH (,, etc.) as CMO and was responsible for all on- and offline marketing activities. He is also an Ex-Googler. There he consulted the global top players in the travel industry on their digital marketing strategy.

Christoph Kronast


As CTO of HolidayPirates Group, Chris oversees the Product Development, Technology and SEO teams. He joined the company as VP of Product Development in July 2015 and had an integral role in building the product and tech team as well as evolving the application into what it is today. Before HolidayPirates, Christoph held leading tech positions, including Director of Software development and CIO, among others, for a total of 8 years at FTI Group, one of Europe’s leading tour operators.
