Delivering projects from anywhere
Meet Alexandre, a seasoned pirate based in Berlin. For nearly six years, he’s proudly flown the HolidayPirates flag as the team lead for Commercial and Partnerships in our French market, VoyagesPirates. Also a soon-to-be parent, Alexandre shares his experiences sailing the seas of hybrid work.
For Alexandre, the term “hybrid work” is more than a buzzword – it’s a way of life. When asked about his ratio of in-office to remote work, Alexandre paints a picture of flexibility.
“The ratio changes through the year,” he explains, “that’s the beauty of hybrid work.” While he aims to be in the office at least once a week, projects and personal commitments sometimes dictate otherwise, allowing him to adapt his schedule to suit his needs.
So, what’s the best part of this hybrid working model? According to Alexandre, it’s all about seizing control of one’s time. From attending doctor appointments to spending quality moments with his daughter, the flexibility afforded by hybrid work enables him to juggle professional responsibilities with personal pursuits. Whether it’s allowing for faster recovery from a sports injury or focusing on family time, Alexandre embraces the freedom to live life on his own terms.
But what about delivering high-stakes projects in this hybrid model? Alexandre recounts the details of a recent interdepartmental Disney project that benefited from hybrid working.
“It was a truly amazing experience. From client pitches to collaborative efforts spanning six markets, the project defied expectations. And at the heart of it all was the hybrid model, which facilitated teamwork and innovation.”
As Alexandre prepares to embark on a new adventure – parental leave for the impending arrival of his second child – the conversation turns to family life.
“Hybrid work is the biggest advantage for parents and kids,” he reflects. It’s the flexibility and balance that allow him to be present for every milestone, creating cherished memories that would be impossible with a rigid 9-to-5 schedule. With hybrid work, Alexandre and his partner can navigate the challenges of parenthood while still excelling in their careers.
“Having a working hybrid model is AWESOME. It’s a game-changer, merging the best of traditional and modern approaches to work. In today’s fast-paced world, where adaptability is key, hybrid work offers a beacon of hope – a dynamic solution for a dynamic workforce.”
